CASEFILE is a fictional detective game. All cases, people and events in it are made up. This page explains what information the game stores and who it is shared with.

Your saved game

Your progress (evidence examined, board connections, notes, settings) is saved in your own browser using local storage. It never leaves your device and we can't see it. Clearing your browser data, or choosing Reset Investigation, erases it.

Purchases

If you buy the full case, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. After payment we set one cookie (casefile_full) that lets your browser load the full case. It contains your purchase reference and an expiry date, nothing else.

Advertising

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings, and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.

Hosting

Like any website, our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.

Children

CASEFILE is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
